Etihad launches direct route between Gothenburg and Abu Dhabi
Etihad Airways is launching a new direct route between Gothenburg Landvetter and Abu Dhabi. Services will begin on 17 December and operate four times a week.
The route will be the first direct connection between Gothenburg and the United Arab Emirates and, according to Swedavia, will improve accessibility from western Sweden to destinations including the Middle East, India and South East Asia.
Etihad will operate the route with an Airbus A321LR. The aircraft has 160 seats across first class, business class and economy class.
- The new connection will strengthen accessibility for the region, particularly to the Middle East, India and South East Asia, says Mats Johannesson, CEO of Swedavia Airports.
Etihad says the new route will also give travellers from Gothenburg access to the airline's wider network from Abu Dhabi. The airline has more than 50 destinations in Asia.
