SAS returns to India with direct route from Copenhagen
SAS resumes services to India after 17 years. On 1 October 2026, the airline will launch a year-round non-stop route between Copenhagen and Mumbai.
The route will operate five times a week using an Airbus A330 with 266 seats. SAS will thus once again offer a direct connection between Scandinavia and Mumbai, India’s financial centre.
“We are delighted to welcome our passengers on board the new direct route to Mumbai. This strategic route is an important milestone for SAS and creates seamless connections between Scandinavia and one of the world’s most dynamic economic centres,” says Paul Verhagen, Chief Commercial Officer at SAS, in a press release.
The new route also strengthens Copenhagen Airport as an international hub. From there, travellers can connect onwards with SAS to destinations including New York, Boston and Toronto.
