Strawberry is strengthening its presence in Denmark by adding Jørgensens Hotel in Horsens to the hotel group's portfolio of independent member hotels.

The hotel, which is housed in the historic Lichtenberg Palace dating from 1744, will become part of Nordic Hotels & Resorts, Strawberry's collection of independent premium hotels, from 25 August.

- We are continuing our growth in Denmark by welcoming Jørgensens Hotel to the Strawberry family. The hotel breathes Danish culture and history and has a perfect location in central Horsens, says Strawberry owner Petter Stordalen.

With this addition, Strawberry is strengthening its position in the Danish market, where the group is already represented in Copenhagen, Kastrup, Odense and Frederikshavn.

Jørgensens Hotel underwent an extensive renovation before reopening in 2020. The hotel has 59 rooms, a restaurant, wine bar, terrace, as well as meeting and event facilities with capacity for up to 450 people.

The property is owned by Mads Bøttger, who is also behind Dragsholm Castle and several restaurant businesses.

In Denmark, Strawberry's portfolio includes Villa Copenhagen, Admiral Hotel and Comfort Hotel Vesterbro in Copenhagen, Hotel Odeon in Odense, as well as Quality Hotel The Reef in Frederikshavn.
