The number of projects in these segments has reached record levels, amounting to nearly 900 hotels in Europe’s pipeline, while the United Kingdom retains its position as Europe’s largest hotel development market, with 263 projects under way.

Over 300 new hotels to open in Europe this year

Europe is expected to gain more than 300 new hotels in 2026, driven primarily by continued strong development in the luxury and upper-upscale segments. This is according to the latest hotel pipeline report from industry analyst Lodging Econometrics (LE).
