The tour operator is thereby removing activities where tourists can see animal shows, or get close to, touch, swim with, or be photographed with wild animals. The decision aims to promote more responsible tourism, according to a press release from World Animal Protection Denmark.

- Animal cruelty has no place in our vision for responsible tourism. As a tour operator, we have a responsibility for the experiences we offer and to inform our guests about animal welfare, says Jan Lockhart, Nordic manager for Sunweb.

The company will continue to offer, for example, whale safaris, provided they are arranged in a way that does not disturb the animals in their natural environment.
