The list: The tour operators that profit - and those that lose
The tour operators' podium looks as usual: Ving, TUI, Dertour and then nothing. Then two fast growers: Rolfs flyg & Buss and Unlimited Travel Group's eleven niche companies.
290 tour operators are on our list. They have a turnover of 41 billion kronor and make a modest profit of a quarter of a billion. They have 2,856 employees, but employ significantly more with employment at the destinations.
The largest is the Ving Group, formally Nordic Leisure Travel Group AB (NLTG), which has a broken financial year ending on 30 September and includes the airline Sunclass Airlines with twelve aircraft.
The turnover in 2025 landed at 16.8 billion kronor with an EBIT result (before financial net and tax) of 710 million. While TUI and Dertour are making losses, Ving is making money. NLTG sold Sunwing hotels for 970 million kronor, made a capital gain of 312 million and used 675 million to repay loans on properties and from the covid deferrals with the Swedish Tax Agency.
