Bonus points for sustainability engagement in SAS’s new programme
SAS is renaming its customer initiative "Conscious Traveler" to "Eurobonus Change Makers". The aim is to link the programme more clearly to the Eurobonus loyalty programme and make it easier for members to engage in the airline’s sustainability and development work.
According to SAS, the name change is also intended to reflect a broader focus on sustainability, including environmental, social and governance-related issues.
- Eurobonus Change Makers gives our members a clearer way to take part in the direction we as an airline are moving towards. The programme links everyday choices to the improvements we are implementing within SAS, says Paul Verhagen, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at SAS.
Through the programme, Eurobonus members can complete various activities in connection with their journeys. Anyone who completes ten activities during a calendar year is rewarded with a digital Change Makers badge as well as 5,000 bonus points and 5,000 qualifying points.
The activities are linked to areas where SAS is driving change, including increased use of SAF, sustainable aviation fuel, more efficient flight operations and social sustainability initiatives.
At the same time, SAS emphasises that the programme's activities have varying environmental impact and that the biggest emissions reductions primarily come from the company's own operational and technical improvements, rather than from individual customers' choices.
Over the coming months, SAS plans to launch more activities and touchpoints within Eurobonus Change Makers as part of the airline's long-term development of the customer programme.
