Egyptair launches direct route between Stockholm and Cairo
Egyptair is establishing operations at Stockholm Arlanda Airport and will launch a new direct route to Cairo in December. From 18 December 2026, the airline will operate the route four times a week, year-round.
Departures from Stockholm will operate on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays to Cairo International Airport. The route will be operated by an Airbus A321neo, with seating for 182 passengers in business and economy class. This is stated in a press release.
The initiative means that air travel between Sweden and Egypt will gain a new direct connection, while Stockholm will also gain a new link to Egyptair's extensive network in the Middle East and Africa.
Egyptair is Egypt's national airline and was founded in 1932. The airline has been a member of Star Alliance since 2008 and has its hub in Cairo, with a network covering destinations in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and North America.
The new route between Stockholm Arlanda and Cairo will launch on 18 December 2026 and operate year-round.
