SAS veteran to strengthen Emirates in Norway

Bratberg has nearly 30 years of experience in the aviation industry as well as in housing and property development. He began his career in the SAS Group, where he worked his way up from baggage handling at the then main airport at Fornebu to leading the company in France, Spain and Portugal. 

At Emirates, he will take commercial responsibility for Norway. The airline offers a daily service between Oslo and Dubai. In addition, Emirates operates a weekly cargo flight on the same route. 

- Since 2014, we have helped Norwegians fly better to the east, and the route has been a great success for us. Bratberg will help us maintain the strong relationships we have with customers, the travel industry and other partners. He will play an important role in creating continued growth for the airline and strengthening our presence in Norway, and he will report directly to Pierfrancesco Carino, our VP Commercial for Northern and Western Europe. Bratberg worked for 20 years in the SAS Group, where he held leadership roles in Norway, Sweden, Hong Kong, Spain, Portugal and France.

Wants even more traffic to Norway 

Bratberg highlights that there are many synergies to be gained through close cooperation within Emirates across the Nordic region. In October, the company will launch a daily service between Helsinki and Dubai. 

– We must continue to work hard to convince our guests that we can offer the best experiences in the air, whether it concerns passengers or those needing to transport important goods quickly and safely. It is particularly exciting to contribute to the further development of the Dubai–Oslo service, so that more tourists come to Norway and it becomes easier for our trading partners in the East to work with us here in the North, he says. 

Emirates’ daily flight between Oslo and Dubai is operated using the airline’s latest Airbus A350, featuring the new Premium Economy cabin. Via Dubai, Norwegian customers have easy access to almost 140 destinations around the world.
