Bellboy Hotels acquires Åby Hotel in the Gothenburg region

Åby Hotel has 223 rooms and opened in 2019 next to Åby Racecourse and Åby Exhibition Centre. The hotel also has a restaurant and conference facilities.

Bellboy sees development potential in Åby Arena, where trade fairs, events and new activity concepts are expected to strengthen the visitor economy. In December 2026, Slick City Action Park is scheduled to open a facility of approximately 4,500 square metres in the area.

- We see great potential in developing Åby Hotel together with the rest of the destination, says Johan Michelson, founder and CEO of Bellboy Hotels.

The acquisition forms part of Bellboy's strategy to grow through the purchase of established hotels. The company aims to build a Swedish hotel group with 40–50 hotels within five years.
