Swedish Frida Gustavsson and Norwegian Tobias Santelmann are among the actors in the upcoming fourth season of HBO's hit series “The White Lotus”. The series, created by Mike White, has previously been set in exclusive destinations such as Hawaii, Sicily, and Thailand - and now reports indicate that the plot will move to Paris and Saint-Tropez on the French Riviera, according to media reports.

Established names such as Helena Bonham Carter and Chris Messina are also said to be confirmed for the production, while the casting work is still ongoing. Filming is expected to start in the first half of 2026, but no premiere date has yet been announced.

“The White Lotus” follows, as before, a group of wealthy guests and hotel staff during an intense week, where relationships and power plays are gradually revealed. The series has been praised for its sharp satire on luxury travel and privileges - but has also had significant effects far beyond the TV screen.

Travel News has previously reported on the so-called “White Lotus effect”, where destinations depicted in the series quickly gain increased interest from travellers. After the first season, bookings to Hawaii increased significantly, and Sicily saw a clear rise in demand after season two. Ahead of the third season in Thailand, hotel chains and travel organisers reported a marked increase in interest even before the premiere.

If the reports about the French Riviera are true, the next season could thus give an additional boost to an already popular destination - and cement the series' role as an unexpected but powerful trendsetter in the global travel industry.
