Record summer for Hertz Sweden
Hertz Sweden has reported its best summer ever. The June–August period was the strongest in the company's history, with August being its best individual month to date.
Behind this development is a strong Swedish domestic market combined with growing international demand, particularly at Arlanda and Landvetter airports and at city offices in Sweden’s larger cities.
The development reflects a strong summer for Sweden’s tourism industry. According to Visita, foreign guest nights at Swedish hotels increased by 14 per cent during the summer. Hertz is also seeing more European visitors in particular choosing hire cars to explore Sweden.
- August grew by 10 per cent compared with last year, and at many of our largest rental locations, we had an occupancy rate of more than 90 per cent for extended periods. Being able to meet such strong demand while maintaining very high customer satisfaction is perhaps what we are most proud of, says Mattias Wäne, CEO of Hertz Sweden, in a press comment.
International demand is also contributing to a longer season. Hertz is seeing travel from European guests continue after the traditional Swedish holiday period, extending the peak season by several weeks.
