33 years of innovation in Sweden’s visitor economy – here are this year’s nominees

Following a strong summer for Swedish tourism, the nominees for the 2026 Grand Tourism Prize will be announced on 22 September.

Among the nominees are everything from small and large events to gastronomic experiences, living cultural heritage, innovative museums and magnificent nature experiences. 

The award is being presented for the 33rd consecutive year and is awarded to an organisation that contributes to developing Sweden's visitor economy in an innovative and sustainable way, while actively sharing knowledge in the field.

The Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth is responsible for the Foundation for the Advancement of Knowledge in Tourism, which presents the Grand Tourism Award and works to share knowledge with stakeholders in tourism and the visitor economy. The 21 candidates have been nominated by their respective counties. The award will be presented on 1 December in Stockholm.
