London surges ahead of the autumn half-term break – bookings more than double

London is Swedes’ most-booked destination ahead of the autumn half-term break. Bookings to the British capital have more than doubled compared with the same period last year, according to travel agency Ticket’s booking statistics.

Overall, bookings for the autumn half-term break have increased by 7 per cent compared with last year. Rome follows in second place, while Paris climbs from fifth to third place.

Barcelona is also seeing a sharp increase. Bookings are up 28 per cent and the city climbs from eighth to sixth place. Lisbon has increased by 13 per cent, but drops one place to eighth.

Among sun destinations, Malaga is the highest-ranked in fourth place, followed by Gran Canaria in fifth and Alicante in seventh.

Two Greek destinations have also made it into this year's top ten. Rhodes is a new entry at number nine and Crete at number ten. Bookings to Crete have almost tripled compared with last year.

Larnaca and Mallorca have dropped out of the top ten, with bookings down 29 and 21 per cent respectively.
