Finnair increases Tokyo flights to up to three daily services

Finnair is stepping up its investment in Japan next summer. During the 2027 peak season, the airline will expand services to Tokyo Narita and may offer up to three daily departures to Tokyo from Helsinki.

Finnair will also continue to fly daily to Tokyo Haneda. With the additional departures to Narita, traffic between Helsinki and Tokyo will increase to a record level.

In total, Finnair will increase from 28 weekly departures to Japan in summer 2026 to up to 32 weekly departures during summer 2027.

“Japan is our largest market after Finland, and demand for flights to Japan has remained strong. We have gradually increased capacity to Japan over several years,” said Christine Rovelli, Finnair’s chief revenue officer, in a written statement.

The additional Narita service will operate between 12 May and 14 August 2027. Departure times have been arranged to allow onward connections from Japan to Finnair’s European network.

Finnair flies year-round to Tokyo Haneda, Tokyo Narita and Osaka. During the summer, the airline also serves Nagoya and, according to the company, is the only European airline to operate flights to the city.
